That's totally amazing! the petunias look so fresh and new. We have a couple of weary snap dragons, and plenty of green parsley, but that's about it. I did cut lots of parsley and made the Christmas Day pesto. I just left a party in Norwich where we found the parking lot dusted with snow, and the streets a little sleety, but as we headed south towards New London, all the bad stuff disappeared as the weather warmed up. Always colder in Norwich than near the shore.
Those petunias are the Energizer bunnies of the annual world--they just keep blooming and blooming... I'm definitely getting lots more of those next year!
We're just the opposite. We did the tree last Saturday, then Sunday it was too cold and rainy to think about doing anything outside. Maybe this weekend. Or maybe not at all. :)
oh man, you are putting me to shame. We have been talking about getting the lights up, but funny thing is, they haven't put themselves up yet! What's up with that?
We are always the last house on our street to get our lights up.
Anita, you've got to remember that we haven't had a Christmas tree in 2 years because of the house fiasco, NOTHING else Christmas-related has been done, and I'm on nesting overdrive.
The ornaments are all from my Grandma. She hasn't put up a tree in years, so she gave me her ornaments, which I absolutely love. The ones in the bowl are ones that her mother-in-law gave her after she was first married.
Well I got the tree, bought from the Tyler's BS Troop. Got it yesterday, kept in the truck overnight, Tim said he would put it up but he's taken Tyler and his girlfriend to indoor rock climbing and Terysa wanted to get the tree up. So I figured I can do it myself. Cut a piece off the trunk of the tree, bang the stand onto the tree trunk and then carry it into the house with the girls guiding me. I DID IT ALL BY MYSELF!! Yay me!!! Letting it rest before putting lights and oranments on. But will get the other house decor out. Taryn and I have CCD but watching for the incoming storm so hopefully it'll be cancelled!! Oh please be cancelled-not really in the mood to deal with precious 8th graders. So we'll see what happens!
We started this blog as we began renovations and an addition on our home, and we kept joking that we were giving Abi, our wonderful weimaraner, a new home. Many things have changed since then, and Abi is no longer with us, but in memory of her, we keep the name of the blog the same.

It is. I thought I had written Mom, but somehow I goofed.
Nice decor. So far we only have the outside of the house. Haven't had a chance to do the inside.
