Mother's Day, Part 2

A few days prior to Mother's Day, I'd found out that life-sized replicas of the cars from the movie Cars 2 were going to be making an appearance in our very own downtown Silver Spring on Mother's Day. Well, Zack loves the Cars, so I knew we had to go. What I hadn't realized is how staged it would be--we waited in line for 50 minutes, got our picture taken with all the cars, and.....done.

Zack got really upset that he couldn't go up to the cars (that is a pretty big tease), so we told him we'd come back after lunch to say goodbye to them. This seemed to work, and off we went to our fave pizza place, Pacci's. What a treat to be able to sit outside on such a gorgeous day! We had an extra surprise when neighbors walked in soon after we did, so we got to enjoy time with them, too.

All in all, it was a lovely weekend spent with my family--I couldn't have asked for a better gift.
